Coccidiosis Vaccination

$0.20/Each

Add Coccidiosis Vaccination for $0.20/Chick

If you want all of your chicks vaccinated, say you have (15) in your cart, you must apply (15) vaccinations in the cart at check out.

We are now offering a coccidiosis vaccination to help you manage your flock.  Keeping small poultry flocks healthy and productive requires skilled husbandry practices.

Coccidia are common protozoan parasites.  These parasites are present in most chicken yards.   Coccidia have the ability to lay dormant for many years until chickens are introduced.  Heavy infections of coccidia cause serious disease and may kill many chickens.  Chickens of all ages can come down with coccidiosis.  This is mostly seen in chickens 4- to 16-week-old.  Wet litter, poor nutrition and concurrent diseases are the most common triggers of coccidiosis.  Vaccinations are done at the hatchery.  It is best to vaccinate chicks at 1-3 days of age.  A successful vaccination will provide long-lasting immunity.

PLEASE READ: To reduce the threat of coccidiosis you should either:

1) Have us vaccinate your birds and NOT use medicated feed. OR

2) Use a medicated feed containing a coccidiostat.

Minimum Qty: 15
